ADMINISTRATION

Why do you need to be qualified to buy tests?

Many of our tests require advanced training in psychological assessments under the direct supervision of a qualified psychologist to ensure proper interpretation and use. Please visit our qualifications webpage for detailed information on test user qualifications for all of our assessments.

 

We recommend consulting the American Psychological Association’s (APA’s) established guidelines for test users. These guidelines outline important considerations for the competent and responsible use and interpretation of psychological tests. They ensure the protection of the legal rights of test takers, maintain standardized administration and scoring procedures, preserve the confidentiality of test materials and information, and reinforce safeguards for protecting test material and results.

An employee wants to retake an assessment that he took a year ago. Do you allow retests?

Yes we do; however, we recommend the following guidelines for retesting. For selection and placement purposes, a candidate’s test results should remain valid for 12 months from the date of testing. Candidates may be retested after six months at their request. If candidates wish to be retested within a shorter timeframe, it should only occur at the discretion of the qualified test administrator and should be supported by a written application with relevant supporting information.

I took one of your tests through my employer. How do I see my results?

Check with the person who administered the test to you. Generally, access to feedback on assessment results will depend on the nature of the assessment, for what purpose it is being used, and the agreement between yourself and the individual or organization who has asked you to take this test.

 

For SIGMA Clients / Test Administrators: Should one of your employees/job applicants contact us inquiring about his/her test responses and results, we will refer this individual to you for this information. We expect our clients to establish an agreement with test takers that specifies the test taker’s access (if any) to feedback on the assessments he/she has completed.

What type of delivery option / scoring solution is best for me?

We’re very proud of the simplicity, security, and convenience of our online testing platforms. Most of our assessments are available on SigmaTesting.com. We highly recommend you try online testing via SigmaTesting.com first and if you don’t like it, or prefer a different scoring and administration method (e.g., software, fax-in, or hand scoring), just let us know and we will help you find the solution that works best for you.

I have a completed test. Where do I send it to be scored?

TEST TAKERS: Check with the person who administered the test to you. If you completed the test online, there is no need to worry about scoring – our online platform SigmaTesting.com will automatically score the test for you. Check with your counselor or the person who administered the test to you for next steps.

 

ADMINISTRATORS: If you are the administrator of the test and you need to submit a hard copy answer sheet for scoring, please send it to us at the appropriate address. If you would like the results returned to you by mail, be sure to include your return address. Results can also be returned by email. Please include the email address in the package if that is your preference.

 

For tests that are supported by fax-in scoring, please fax the answer sheet to 1-888-TEST-555. Results are returned via fax or email depending on how you set up your account.

INTERPRETATION

I'm not sure how to interpret the results of my assessment. Do you offer training?

We offer consulting services and custom training solutions for organizations. We can also connect individuals to one of our coaches to provide an assessment debrief. Contact us to discuss the possibilities and we would be happy to design a solution that meets your needs.

Can I take a test for myself and interpret it?

Use of our assessments requires submitting a test user qualifications form and subsequent approval of your qualifications. If you are not qualified, you are not able to purchase our assessments; however, you can certainly request to take one through a qualified professional such as a counselor or psychologist. Even if you are qualified to use the assessment you are interested in taking, many of our assessments are not intended for self-interpretation. Optimal results will be achieved when test results are interpreted by a qualified professional. However, we do have a career interest assessment that was designed to be self-interpreted – it can be purchased online at www.jvis.com.

RESEARCH & LEARNING

I'd like to use one of your assessments for research. How do I get started?

We offer a discount to qualified individuals who are interested in using our assessments for research. Please fill out the research application form and we will contact you shortly to let you know if you are approved.

I'd like to use one of your assessments for teaching purposes as part of my graduate course. Is this possible?

Yes, we support and encourage the use of our assessments for teaching and educational use. Contact us for more information.

TECHNICAL SUPPORT

My client didn't get his email invitation to complete his test? What should I tell him to do?

First, ask your client to check his junk mail. Sometimes email invitations for our tests and assessments get trapped in spam filters. If he still can’t locate it, you can log in to your SigmaTesting.com account and quickly and easily resend the email invitation. Click on “Tests” then “Select” next to the test administration and then “Email Client.”

I'm looking for a candidate in SigmaTesting.com and I can't seem to find her in the client list. What do I do?

Check the sorting options. SigmaTesting.com allows you to sort your clients based on multiple criteria and it’s likely that the default sort function is preventing you from seeing this client/test administration. Under “List Options,” try sorting according to “Recent” or “Active” to see all clients and test administrations that have recently been active on SigmaTesting.com. Double check the other sort criteria to ensure they are not restricting your search at all. If you’re still having trouble locating a client or test administration, contact us and we can investigate further.

I haven't received my fax report. What should I do?

Your answer sheet was likely not received properly. Please resend making sure the answer sheet is inserted properly into the fax machine, responses are marked clearly enough to be read by the fax machine, and mistakes are completely erased. Ensure that you have accurately bubbled in the return fax number in the top right-hand corner of the answer sheet.  If an answer sheet is received but cannot be processed due to errors, a report with instructions is faxed or emailed back to you. If you continue to have issues, please refer to the SIGMAFax support page and/or the test’s scoring guide.

I have registered my software before but now it is saying that I'm unregistered. What do I do?

This happens because a change has occurred on your system, usually from a Microsoft update or hardware change. Please call our toll-free number to re-register your system software. It will only take a minute or two and your software will be ready to use again.

EXCHANGES & RETURNS

How do I make an exchange or return?

ONLINE PRODUCTS: Our online system is very flexible. Returns are not typically needed for online products because purchased assessments do not have an expiry date and can be reassigned to other clients if the original client does not complete it. However, if you have any issues with our online ordering system or would like help with a refund or exchange, please contact us.

 

OFFLINE PRODUCTS: Any unopened or unused printed materials in good condition can be returned within a reasonable timeframe for exchange or return. A 10% restocking fee is applied to all returned printed materials. Please contact us to make arrangements for return delivery by traceable means.
